The Children's Central Intake Unit is the gateway into our programs serving children between the ages of 3-17. The intake process begins with referrals via telephone or face-to-face contact and is accomplished by a comprehensive initial evaluation. Consumers and families are then referred to an appropriate service within the agency or to an outside agency.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAM (ES)

Following the lead of an exemplary Re-Ed classroom model developed at the Positive Education Program (PEP) in Cleveland, OH, Community Council's Emotional Support classrooms focus on the values system, classroom structure and the group process. The program provides a broad array of mental health services including: evaluation, treatment, consultation and prevention of problem behaviors among at-risk students. The classrooms were developed via a collaborative partnership between Community Council and the School District of Philadelphia to augment services traditionally offered in schools and provide a variety of therapeutic behaviorally-based interventions within the classroom without interfering with normal academic instruction in the school.
