CHILD & ADOLESCENT SERVICES
ADULT SERVICES
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
The Children's Central Intake Unit is the gateway into our programs serving children between the ages of 3-17. The intake process begins with referrals via telephone or face-to-face contact and is accomplished by a comprehensive initial evaluation. Consumers and families are then referred to an appropriate service within the agency or to an outside agency.
The Adult Intake Unit is the entry point into adult outpatient services where an initial intake assessment is performed and followed with an evaluation provided by Masters level clinicians and licensed psychiatrists respectively. Adults can also be admitted into various programs by referral from DBH or CBH.
The Educational Services Division's Mission is to provide a safe and structured educational environment where children and adolescents can be nurtured. We bring passion and commitment to the children in our care and understand and appreciate their differences and challenges. We recognize the "diamond in the rough" and seek to resuscitate the resilient spirit within.

THERAPEUTIC EMOTIONAL SUPPORT CLASSROOMS (TESC)

The TESC program was designed to address the concerns of the growing number of TSS (Therapeutic Support Staff) present in school throughout the city Philadelphia. In the TESC classroom, those students who would have initially been referred for in-school BHRS services are authorized by CBH for 181 days to have a full time Master Level Clinician who is assigned to 4 or more students in the classroom. The Master Level Clinicians provides group and individual therapeutic sessions to identified clients. These sessions provide skills and guidance to empower client to gain independence and mastery skills. The clinicians are assisting the clients for a successful discharge and a successful transition back into the mainstream population. The master level clinicians use strength-based and researched-based approaches, such as a client’s natural resiliency to stress. The following Evidence-Based Model/Curriculum are used in the TESC Program: Child Centered Therapy, Strength-Based Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Skills Streaming Group Curriculum.
