Dr. Natakie Chestnut–Lee
Dr. Chestnut–Lee is a distinguished executive, visionary leader, and unwavering advocate for equity and social justice, serving as a board member for Community Council Health Services (CCHS). With over 20 years of experience driving transformation in education and community systems, Dr. Chestnut–Lee has held a range of influential positions, including High School Teacher, Therapist, Behavior Specialist, Principal, Turnaround Specialist, Superintendent, and CEO. In every role, they have delivered strategic results by designing and executing innovative initiatives that elevate student achievement, foster inclusive environments, and advance systemic change on a broad scale.
As a highly educated leader, Dr. Chestnut–Lee holds multiple advanced degrees: a Master’s in Special Education and a Master’s in Adult Education from Cheyney University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Wilmington University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Walden University. They have further enhanced their expertise through the completion of the Urban Superintendent Academy at Howard University and the National Institute for Urban School Leaders at Harvard University, cementing their reputation as a trailblazer in urban education and leadership.
Beyond their professional endeavors, Dr. Chestnut–Lee has a proven record of community service and advocacy. They serve on the New Jersey Governor’s Advisory Committee for Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention and as a former member of the Millville, NJ Planning and Zoning Board. Dr. Chestnut–Lee is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc., the NAACP, the National Council of Negro Women, and the National Action Network, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to social justice and the empowerment of underserved communities.
Dr. Chestnut–Lee’s deep passion for mental health equity and access is a driving force behind their work with CCHS. Their belief in collaboration and systemic reform aligns seamlessly with the organization’s mission to improve health systems and promote community well-being.
Outside of their professional life, Dr. Chestnut–Lee is a lover of international travel, theater, and exploring cultural landmarks. They are guided by the principle, “Service to others is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth,” a reflection of their lifelong dedication to fostering equity, opportunity, and well-being for all.
